Our Repeater The Short Mountain Repeater (W4YXA) operates at 146.910 MHz using a negative offset (146.310 MHz). It is located about 60 miles SSE of Nashville, Tennessee [ approx. 35°51'38" N 85°58'08" W ] at an elevation of almost 2200 feet. It covers a wide area and is open to all licensed amateur radio operators of technician class or higher.

Silent Key Notice It's with great sadness that I report the passing of Wallace Thompson, KG4EVD. Wallace Thompson, age 74 of Smyrna, died Sunday, 27 July 2008 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born in Nashville and was the son of the late William C. and Winnie Byrd Thompson, Sr. Wallace was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smyrna, Veteran of the United States Air Force, and a retired employee of AT&T. He was also an amateur radio operator and an avid turkey hunter. He will be missed by all who knew him. Memorials in memory of Mr. Thompson may be made to the Neurological Foundation at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Woodfin Memorial Chapel 615-893-5151
